Competitive Advantage Mission

Competitive Advantage: The Consortium Undergraduate Program is a strategic initiative launched to improve the outcomes of underrepresented college students whereupon graduation they are more employable or admittable to graduate and professional school, regardless of the academic discipline.

A program that’s BEEN more than 50 years in the making

Competitive Advantage is a program developed by The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, which has worked for more than a half century to increase diversity in business education and corporate leadership. Now, we’re using both our strong ties to the corporate world and our affiliations with some of the best colleges in the country to help underrepresented minorities at the undergraduate level.

A Program that can jumpstart your career

The focus of Competitive Advantage is a year-round program where you’ll meet corporate partners seeking interns and full-time employees, learn from experts how to prepare for your career or position yourself for graduate education, and connect with other students and members of The Consortium network who are ready and willing to help you now — and in the future.

Our network is extensive, featuring students and alumni of some of America’s most distinguished MBA programs. Many of our alums are top-tier executives at Fortune 500 companies, and we have corporate partners that continue to support our efforts and are always on the lookout for the next generation of leaders.

Upon participating in the program, you’ll carry your newfound skills with you throughout your college and career experience. Above all, you’ll have the opportunity to work with career advisors and can tap into the Competitive Advantage network whenever the need arises.

It’s our mission to improve outcomes for underrepresented minority undergraduates. We do that by helping increase your readiness for employment or graduate school — and addressing that need across all academic disciplines.
